 Child Safety Policy
RMC  provides protective care of all children and volunteers who participate in church sponsored activities.
Adults who have been convicted of either sexual or physical abuse should not volunteer service in any church sponsored activity or program for children.

Adult survivors of childhood sexual or physical abuse need the love and acceptance of this church family. Individuals who have such a history should discuss their desire to work with children or youth with the pastor prior to engaging in any volunteer service.
All adult volunteers working with youth or children are required to have been members of Rocky Mountain Chapel for a minimum of 6 months.

Adult volunteers will observe the "two adult" rule. This requires that approved adults are never alone with children or youth without an approved adult partner. There many be times when this may not be feasible but as long as two approved adults are within sight of each other, this requirement is met.

Adult volunteers should immediately report any behaviors, which seem abusive or inappropriate to their supervisor or pastor.

Worker Supervision
The two adult rule. An adult is considered someone over the age of 21. This requires that approved adults are never alone with children or youth without an approved partner. There may be times when this may not be feasible but as long as two approved adults are within sight of each other, then this requirement is met. Some examples of this are as follows: One volunteer is teaching a 1st grade class and another volunteer is teaching a 4th grade class. Both classes are being taught in separate corners of the sanctuary.

Can teenagers teach
or help teach our younger youth? They have to be supervised by the two adult policy. Remember, this is to protect them, the youth they teach, our adult volunteers, and our church.

Obtain Parental Permission
. If there is a case where the Pastor or a church member has the need to pick up a child, we must follow the two adult rule and obtain Parental Permission in advance.
